New uShaka ad from FCB Durban

FCB Durban's new commercial for client uShaka MARINE WORLD has just been launched on the small screen. Titled 'Kaleidoscope' the ad follows in the footsteps of the highly successful previous uShaka commercial which was the 5th most liked ad in 2004 according to Millward Brown Impact.

The new commercial continues to position uShaka MARINE WORLD as South Africa's premier marine attraction, but extends this to demonstrate the 'bottomless cup of fun' on offer at the park.

The commercial therefore highlights all the attractions - the aquarium, water slides and rides, shopping facilities, beach, and dolphin & seal shows - illustrating that no holiday to KwaZulu-Natal would be complete without a visit to uShaka MARINE WORLD.

Featuring everything from a ship colliding with an island to penguins acting as waiters, the commercial is vibrant and entertaining - despite using still photography as a platform. "Every time you see the ad, you find something new. Thousands of images have been compressed into 30 seconds of fantasy creating a world of adventure that is the uShaka MARINE WORLD experience." says FCB Durban Executive Creative Director, Michael Bond.

Production house, Rhubarb Post-production & Audio took on the task of animating the ad. "The tight schedule meant we had to work around the clock but we found this job incredibly rewarding thanks to its creative and technical challenges," said editor, Marco Pulvirenti.

The ad premiered on SABC 1, 2 and 3.
