Takeda appoints Danilo Cassani

Takeda, a research based global pharmaceutical company, has appointed Danilo Cassani as head of Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) effective 1 April 2014.

In this role, Cassani will be responsible for leading the rapid growth and continued expansion of Takeda's activities in this region, which comprises the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, the Levant area in addition to Iran, Iraq, Turkey and the African continent.

Cassani joined Takeda in 2012 as CFO for META, before assuming the role of executive director - business operations in 2013. In this capacity, he has played a vital role in leading some of META's commercial entities as well as contributing to the region's rapid growth over this period and in setting the strategy for the future expansion of the company. He has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry acquired in senior leadership roles in finance and management with major international companies across Europe and the Middle East, including Astra Zeneca where he had a successful 13-year tenure before joining Takeda. Cassani holds a Master's degree in Economics from Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Italy.
