Sew the Winter to My Skin, SA's official entry to the 91st Oscars

The acclaimed film, Sew the Winter to My Skin has been announced as South Africa's official entry to the 91st Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Language category.

Hailed as “A Visionary Work” by Hollywood Reporter and “South Africa’s deserved Oscar Contender” by Screen Anarchy, the film is competing against over 80 other countries to vie for the most coveted award in the film universe.

With a much-needed global focus on content from Africa, the film and its makers are in Los Angeles for a week to garner support and awareness around the film in the hopes that films like these become accessible for a global market.

Director, Jahmil X.T. Qubeka and lead actress, Kandyse McClure are to be present at two further screenings of the film and are available for any interviews while in Los Angeles until 21 November.
