Wildlife photography workshops

Together with Canon, The Getaway Show will offer four, two-hour long photography workshops at the show, featuring two of the most decorated and accomplished African wildlife and landscape photographers – Andrew Aveley and Michael Tucker.

SA's expedition leaders

The Getaway Show’s Travel and Taste Lounge is geared up to take you on an adventure. For the first time in Getaway Show history, South African adventurists will speak about their experience in grass-roots conservation efforts.

The 2018 event will play host to some of the country’s highest-profile expedition leaders, including professional adventurer Peter van Kets, adventure photo-journalist Jacques Marais and KZN adventurer, eco-warrior, and humanitarian Carla Geyser. Van Kets will be on site at The Getaway Show on Saturday, 15 September 2018. Geyser will be on site throughout the weekend, with her expedition vehicles on display. She will be speaking about her expedition experiences with visitors each day at The Getaway Show’s Travel and Taste Lounge.

The outdoor adventure area offers a range of exciting and fun activities for the whole family to partake in. Relax in the beer tent whilst enjoying a delicious meal from the food trucks, watch your little ones have fun in the kiddies and toddlers play area, release your inner competitor with the dodgeball arena, or browse around the marvellous market area.

Come hungry and enjoy an array of mouth-watering food trucks for you and the family to choose from. Whether you want a quick bite or a sit-down meal, our incredible food vendors will cater to all your food needs.

Indulge in a perfect pizza from The Brohemian, delicious fish and chips from GoFish, or El Jefe’s marvellous Mexican food. For the carnivores, enjoy Pitmaster’s Smokehouse BBQ ribs and wash it down with a thirst-quenching Tropika juice. Take the time to try Lucky Star’s authentic South African street food like their mini gatsby, bunny chow, or fat cake. Then for those with a sweet-tooth, Paquito’s Treatery will be serving mouth-watering churros.

More than 200 exhibitors

With over 200 exhibitors showcasing the latest in camping gear, adventure and outdoor wear, 4X4 products, caravans, motorhomes, cars, trucks, trailers, travel destinations, accommodations, and accessories. It’s all under one roof.
